Big Springs National Park

Big Springs Trails

We spent 3 nights camped at Big Springs National Park after meeting up with our Dean’s RV Camping Club friends in Branson, Missouri.

It was wonderful to see our friends and spend some time catching up on the news from home.  Branson has a lot to offer, and one can be as busy or idle as they choose.

I visited Big Springs National Park not far from Van Buren, Missouri thirty years ago and wanted to share its magic with Phil.  The park is open and the spring is still blue-green, cold and glorious.  There are caves to explore and trails to walk.  We spent time when it was not raining to enjoy what was available.  However, the Lodge, Dining Hall and Cabins are closed for 2015 for repairs and updating.

I was sad to see the decline in structures and a drop in available programs that were on-going so long ago.   However, once the updating and rebuilding is finished, it will be a beautiful place again.  Perhaps we can return in a couple of years and admire the newness.
